Cat toys are getting more and more sophisticated. Believe it or not, you can play with your cat while you are away. Imagine an electronic robot that can scoot around for your cat to chase and play with while you control it by your phone? And, there's a way to check up on what kind of mischief your dear kitty is doing while you are away, like a child monitor, that can scurry into any corner of your house.
Electronic cat toys are all the rage right now, and most of them are very safe, even if you have a rather destructive kitty.
Are Electronic Cat Toys Safe?
You will want to make sure that your electronic cat toys are safe and not dangerous for your cat. Check to see if there are reports or complaints of hazards online for the cat toys.
Anything that can easily chip, or break, or that allows the batteries to easily fall out, are no-nos for your dear kitty. Don't use anything that uses paint on the outside that the cat can swallow, or has dangling items that can be easily broken off or chewed off.
Anything, where wires can be reached easily by the cat, or that, is hazardous when getting wet is also a toy that you should probably avoid.
And you don't want anything that has a laser beam because you do not want to point the beam directly into the cat's eyes because it can cause blindness with prolonged exposure. Most laser posters and automatic lasers usually feature lasers with one-to-five milliwatts and those are generally safe for human and animal eyes. So, a mistake or accident that points the laser in the cat's face for a moment is not too bad, it may only temporarily stun the cat. But, we all know how much they like to chase lasers.
All the toys at My Dear Kitty are tested and extremely safe with your cat's well-being always in mind.
